about the EZ FineAnts Energy Bank project

After the financial crisis of European banks are struggling with the changed financial landscape. It is all in all a much more difficult world for financial firms. In 2015 management attention as well as financial efforts in most banks are still primarily aimed inward, in an effort to cut costs and rebuild capital buffers.

This is not good news for the real economy, where businesses and households alike are struggling.

For instance, in emerging economic sectors such as energy efficiency and green energy production the slowing flow of investment funds is starting to choke off potential activity. This market failure is the inspiration for our Energy Bank project (see also 'Why this? Why now?').

Retrofitting buildings with better isolation, adding local energy efficient generation such as solar and heat pumps are but some examples of small scale improvements that together hold enormous potential for energy usage reduction, if executed at sufficient scale. But this requires investment.

We at EZ FineAnts firmly believe that households, small businesses and local governements should be encouraged to invest in and experiment with energy efficiency opportunities - instead of being held back by insufficient financing and regulatory hurdles. Furthering energy efficiency at the micro scale advances not only environmental aims, but trough its impact on local economies and livelihoods could also be a trigger to relaunch the current ailing economy. A true win-win.

EZ FineAnts wants to stimulate grassroots initiatives in energy efficiency by providing access to helpful information and adapted financing solutions for households and local communities (see also 'Savings Products' and 'Investment Products' for more details).
